Welcome race fans to... BANZAI RUN!  This game was produced in 1988 by Williams, the maker of the greatest and most collectable modern pinball machines on the planet. Banzai Run is one of the most unique games ever created.  It has a complete playfield inside the head of the game with flippers, targets, kickers and everything!  Never done before and never done after!  The game was the brainchild and very first game designed by the great Pat Lawlor, who went on to create such titles as Earthshaker, Whirlwind, Funhouse, Addams Family and Twilight Zone.  This game was so expensive to produce that a limited number were created.  Only about 1700 of these were built.  I was fortunate enough to get to play one when they were new and it has always been one of my favorite games.  I have not had one of these in over a decade!  The majority of these games are already in the hands of the major pinball collectors and they never give them up.  The artwork, sound and gameplay puts you right out on the moto-cross track, making for one intense game of pinball! 

You'll love the rocking soundtrack and the announcer as he welcomes you to the Banzai Run!  The main objective of the game is to challenge the five competitors to become the KING OF THE HILL.  You start out in sixth place, behind Yellow Belly, Blue Beard, Green Machine, Red Hot and The King.  There are targets on the lower playfield that correspond to 4 of the 5 racers.  Hit the corresponding targets to light the competitors in the upper playfield.  Once you have one or more of the racers lit, you can shoot for the elevator to take you to the upper playfield.  Once there, you will see the necessary shots to defeat the racers.  Defeat all of the 4 lower-end competitors, then you can challenge The King.  Do this by locking a ball in the upper playfield, then the MULTI-BALL frenzy begins!  During multi-ball, you have to shoot the center hole with one ball and go for the upper playfield with the second ball.  Make it to the top of the upper playfield for ONE SHOT at the captive ball.  Blow it and start all over again!  The rules are simple, just like moto-cross, but VERY difficult to actually win.  There's also a FREESTYLE mini-pachinko game in the upper playfield!  That's not all, the playfield features a ramp and other targets to spot competitors and also add LAPS.  The more laps you accumulate, the more bonus points you get at the end of the round.  There are other great features such as a ball save kickback, captive holes, an up-post between the upper flippers, pop-bumpers, slingshots, roll-overs and more!  The classic and extremely family-friendly theme goes great in any home gameroom!

This game was so popular when it came out that it's very hard to find one at all, let alone in such great condition.  The circuit boards are all original to the game with matching serial numbers!  The playfield on this game is in excellent condition due to the fact that the majority of it is covered with a factory-cut clear mylar protective layer.  The mylar appears to have been installed when the game was fairly new, but there are a few inserts with minor wear underneath the mylar and the mylar also has some bubbling at some of the inserts.  The upper playfield is absolutely gorgeous!  The ramps and plastics on the playfield are original and in very good condition with a few blemishes and cracks.  The original silk-screened backglass is in pristine condition with no flaking or peeling paint and brand new LED score displays have been installed.  The cabinet is excellent and unfaded with minor blemishes which have been touched-up.  The chrome legs have been polished and brand new playfield glass has been installed.  This game is a huge hit for pinball machine enthusiasts and it plays lightning fast just like it did in 1988!
