An 80's Gottlieb classic with Miami-Vice flair... HOLLYWOOD HEAT!  This game was produced in 1986 by Gottlieb, creator of the most popular pinball machines on the planet! Gottlieb and other companies were known to capitalize on popular TV shows and movies of the time by making games that bore a strikingly similar, yet totally unlicensed theme.  Although this game is called "Hollywood Heat", it may as well be called "Miami Vice" because anyone that looks at the game for even one second will swear that it's Don Johnson on the backglass.  Is it him?  Isn't it?  Who knows!  What theme strikes more of an 80's note than Miami Vice?  This game was incredibly popular when new due to the theme and classic Gottlieb drop-target style gameplay coupled with great music, artwork and multi-ball action.  The artwork on the machine makes it a delight to look at, even when you're not playing it.

You'll love the 80's synthesizer tunes as you launch the ball up into the mini-playfield.  That's right!  This game has a playfield within a playfield!  At the upper left of the main playfield is an extra set of mini-flippers, drop targets and captive holes.  Lock balls in both holes, shoot the cool translucent pink ramp and let the multi-ball frenzy begin!  Another Gottlieb innovation featured on this game is the REMO-TRIP drop target.  During multi-ball when you drop a target on the upper playfield, the game will automatically drop the corresponding lower target and vice-versa.  Drop as many targets as you can to go for EXTRA BALLS, SPECIALS and MEGA BONUS POINTS!  Another great feature of the game is the ACTIVE CAPTIVE BALL under the ramp.  Give it a whack and watch as the captive ball whizzes around in it's own area with a separate pop-bumper and slingshot kicker.  The ball will often kick around inside for almost a full minute or more if you hit it right!  Amazing!  That's just the start... from the pop bumper, FOUR slingshots, FOUR FLIPPERS, SIX drop targets and SIX stationary targets, to the rollovers and kickout saucers, this playfield has an incredibly entertaining and well thought out design that will keep you challenged for hours at a time. This classic theme goes great in any home gameroom!
